CLOSED FOR MOTHERS DAY

Just wanted to shout out and say Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms!!! Especially mine!

I will not be having class on Sunday, however, there has been great expression from many of you to have a Mothers Day Session with Mimosas and rich decadent food!! Maybe I will work on that for next year. Maybe a closed gathering for those who sign up!! Just like getting a manicure on mothers day except we knit and drink and eat!!!

Sip & Knit Inc. will also be closed on Sunday. Doni's niece Natalie is graduating from med school so a big Congrats to Natalie!! And this is a big mothers day present for her mom!!

Specilaty Classes for Spring

Thank you to all who have waited patiently for this class list.

I will be posting pics. from the end of last year and up to catch everyone up on what has been going on.

Here are the Specialty Classes I will be teaching at Sip & Knit, Inc.

Sunday 4/5 & 4/19 1:30-3:30 Cost $45
Go Green with this Market Bag!!! - This is a quick and easy knit and a fun way to go green at your farmers market or supermarket. Round out your green-scene by using some of the new yarns made from sugar cane, hemp, linen or cotton.

Saturday 4/18 9:30-11:30 Cost $25.00
Increases and Decreases - Have you ever wondered why ome patterns tell you a different way to increase or decrease than others? Well this is the class for you. We will explore a variety of increases and decreaes and their uses!!! There is homework for this class

Sunday 4/26 1:30-3:30 Cost $25.00
How to read a Chart - We will explore a simple lace pattern and will learn how to use the chart instead of writing out the pattern. We will be starting a simple project so you will have something to show for all that learning!!!

Saturday 4/25, 5/2, 5/9 9:30-11:30 Cost $65.00
Socks and 2 Circulars - This class is for those who have already knit with double point needles. There will be a separate class for beginner socks. We will be going over how to do a basic sock pattern on 2 circulars and you will have the option of inserting a pattern into the cuff. The pattern will be wither cables or easy lace, or nothing at all. Pattern will be furnished by the instructor, or if you prefer you may bring in a pattern you have had your eye on!!

Saturday 5/16 9:30-11:30 Cost $25.00
Oops I think I dropped a stitch- IT BACK!! This calss will teach you how to correct mistakes so you dont have to tart the project all over again!! There is homework so sign up early. Limited space available.

General Help Class Friday 3/20/09

I will be having class today Friday 3/20/09 HOWEVER Sip & Knit, Inc. will be closed due to the Winter Park Art Festival, therefore, the only way to get into the store is to call the # posted on the front door when you arrive. I will be more than happy to let you in!!

I have several classes to post & now that my computer is working I will have them posted by Sunday evening!!

SPECIALTY CLASS

OK , I got messages!!! I have just been a little behind the 8ball!! I am working on the class list.

I have scheduled this INTARSIA class for Sunday February 8th at Sip & Knit, Inc.

Learn this color knitting technique and have this holiday trinket in just 1 lesson!! Our project is a sachet and our motif will be a heart!!

I have scheduled this class to begin at 1:30pm and go until we have finished the heart, which I anticipate to be some where around 4pm.

The cost will be $45 per person and will include the yarn, pattern and filling!!

I hope everyone has been recuperating from the holiday season. I know I have been trying.....but as you know I have a hard time with the unwinding process from anything.

SOCKS FOR 2 CIRCULARS - For the sock knitter who wants to learn the 2 circular way, or of you already know how to do 2 circulars, for the sock knitter who wants an original pattern to indulge in a fancy sock.

ENTRELAC - Technique class.

COLOR KNITTING - Technique class.

A SUMMER TOP - Project class.

LACE SHAWL - Technique class.

I am just waiting for a date confirmation for Solo and Ensemble for my son Alex. It is held over a weekend in February and I don't want to book a class and have to reschedule it. Alex is being judged on the Marimba, Snare Drum and Timpiani this year!! He made it very clear he needs me to be there for support, and everyone knows there is no one like Mommy when it comes to the scary stuff!!

I have had a whirl wind of a holiday and hope you all had a good time too!!

I am leaving tonight to visit my sister in Tampa just for the day tomorrow. Alex and I are taking Dixie, she needs a break from Vivian!! Those of you who have met Vivi know what I am talking about. I will be posting the new class schedule this weekend.

I will be in for Sunday General Help Class at Sip & Knit, Inc. from 11-1 as usual

I will be resuming a somewhat normal schedule as of Wednesday January 7th,2009

The calender will be up by Sunday 1/4/09.
